That heading is not entirely true, however, after 2 wonderful years at California Institute of the Arts I have graduted with a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Jazz Studies. While I was there, I studied with John Fumo, Joe LaBarbera, Larry Koonse, Ben Wendel, David Roitstein, Wadada Leo Smith, Vinny Golia, Howie Shear, Charlie Haden and many others. It was a truly enlightening experience for me as a musician and a human being. I will never forget it. Check out CalArts’ website here.
